St. John Ambulance Home
Welcome to the Windsor-Essex St
John Ambulance website. We
are a volunteer group of people from your community who believe in
service to the people of the Windsor-Essex area.
St. John
Ambulance today is comprised of more than 13,000
volunteers providing service in more than 300 communities from
coast-to-coast. St. John Ambulance volunteers in Canada remain as
dedicated as the Knights of ages ago, providing millions of hours of
service through emergency first-aid readiness, health and safety
training, youth programs, Therapy Dog visitation services and much more.
St. John Ambulance volunteers give their time to provide community
services to the people around them. The Brigade offers several avenues
for volunteers to learn new skills and use them in their communities.
Volunteers learn the skills to become a first aid
provider—delivering patient care at a variety of sporting and
cultural events. They’re trained and ready to provide
disaster
relief. The Brigade also offers the opportunity to gain valuable
experience, including leadership, communication and interpersonal
skills.
Young people hold the hopes and dreams of tomorrow. St. John Ambulance
believes young people can make a significant contribution. The St. John
Ambulance Youth Program was established to give young people ages 6 to
20 the chance to help their community by joining in the work of the St.
John Ambulance Brigade. The Youth Program is great for social,
educational and personal development through community service, special
events and leisure activities, as well as training in first aid, health
care, life and safety skills. From wilderness survival to nutrition,
astronomy, team sports and summer camps, the Youth Program opens the
doors to community service.
